AI
Disclosure
Plico Advisory uses AI-assisted tools as a core part of our practice methodology. This document explains how, when, and under what constraints those tools are used — and what that means for our clients.
Our position
We believe in full transparency about our use of AI tools. Every report, assessment, and piece of advice delivered by Plico Advisory is led, reviewed, and signed off by a registered architect or qualified specialist. AI tools assist our work — they do not replace professional judgment.
Tools in use
The following AI tools form part of our practice workflow. This list is reviewed and updated periodically.
How AI assists our work
AI tools assist in synthesising planning scheme provisions, heritage overlay controls, and technical standards. This allows us to produce more thorough, faster analysis than traditional manual research. All AI-generated analysis is verified against primary source documents before being relied upon in advice.
First drafts of feasibility reports, heritage impact statements, and advisory notes may be produced with AI assistance based on structured input from a principal. All reports are reviewed, edited, and approved by a registered architect or heritage specialist before delivery to a client. The final document represents our professional opinion — not the AI's.
Our NCC and heritage compliance tools use AI to assist in identifying applicable clauses, dimensional requirements, and common non-compliances. These tools are reference aids — compliance determinations require professional judgment and must be confirmed by a registered practitioner and the relevant Registered Building Surveyor.
AI tools assist in drafting clear, plain-English summaries of technical findings for client reports and correspondence. All client-facing content is reviewed and approved by a principal before sending. We do not use AI to generate automated responses to client enquiries without human review.
Client data & privacy
We take the privacy of client information seriously. The following principles govern how client data is handled in the context of AI tool use.
Limitations & commitments
AI tools are not infallible. We apply the following commitments to manage their limitations responsibly.
Human sign-off on all professional advice. No advice, report, or assessment delivered to a client under Plico Advisory's name is the unreviewed output of an AI tool. A registered architect or qualified specialist reviews and approves all deliverables.
Currency of information. AI models have knowledge cut-off dates and may not reflect the most current planning controls, NCC editions, or heritage listings. We always verify critical information against current primary sources before relying on it in advice.
Ongoing review. Our use of AI tools is reviewed regularly. This disclosure will be updated when tools change, when our practices evolve, or when new guidance from professional bodies or regulators is issued.
